Individual Psychotherapy 

Psychotherapy with me progresses in steps and stages so that you can decide when you have done enough. Everyone’s therapy is unique and different lengths of time are needed. There will be opportunity to explore the scope of what you want to do in therapy and then to consider engaging in a longer deeper process of understanding yourself. With the support of effective psychotherapy, you can discover the natural healing capacity of your mind and develop your capacities to:

  • contact and regulate your feelings

  • make meaning amongst your experiences

  • find a healing state of mind

  • enjoy your life and relationships more

Psychotherapy supports a wide range of issues

You may have a specific concern about your emotional wellbeing, or you may have experienced a distressing event in your life. You may need to understand the impact of your past experiences on your present reactions to life and relationships.

 

You may wish to think about what’s happening in your life now, and what you need to do to resolve a difficulty or repair a relationship. You may want to develop your confidence in some aspects of your life.

Psychotherapy for emotional wellbeing

Psychotherapy at depth involves exploring your life and experiences, in order to make sense of your feelings, thoughts and behaviours in a way which brings new options for living now. This may involve thinking about your early developmental relationships, and any subsequent significant experiences. It may also involve thinking about conscious and unconscious processes within yourself, in your relationships, and in the therapeutic relationship with me.

 

With the support and encouragement of an effective therapeutic relationship you can begin to develop resourcefulness, enhance resilience and fulfil your potential.


Therapeutic counselling

You can use counselling to support you in emotional recovery, problem-solving and increasing self-awareness. Counselling can focus on your awareness, skills, relationships, and life resources. It helps you recover from a destabilizing life event and get back on track. Counselling is usually a brief therapy taking a few weeks or months to complete.
